Get Involved with AFLV

Without our volunteers, AFLV would not be able to be successful! Our qualifications are simple; we are seeking energetic, hardworking professionals & graduate students who want to help us enhance the AFLV experience for fraternity/sorority undergraduate members across the country.

 

A number of options for involvement exist within the Association, so please check them all out below.

 

Conference Opportunities

Awards & Assessment Coordinator

  • Support the overall administration of the Awards & Assessment program.
  • Coordinate the Awards & Assessment Program on-site logistics at AFLV West, including NCGLC. Support the on-site logistics at AFLV Central, including NBGLC. 
  • Act as the liaison for Awards & Assessment while attending AFLV experiences.
  • Serve as a member of the year-round Awards & Assessment Committee completing and supervising committee work as assigned.

AFLV West Intern Coordinator

  • Coordinate the on-site Conference Intern Experience, under the leadership and supervision of the Student Experience Director, at AFLV West. Responsibilities include:
    • Development and implementation of AFLV West Intern training. 
    • Work with AFLV staff to optimize the AFLV West Intern schedule.
    • Serve as the on-site liaison, supporting the overall well-being and needs of AFLV West Interns.
  • Provide ongoing, constructive professional feedback to AFLV West Interns.
  • Assist in the administration of the overall Conference Intern Experience application and selection process.

Conference Educational Programs Review Committee

  • As a member of this group, you will virtually score program submissions for AFLV Conferences. 
  • This opportunity is available to both graduates and professionals.
  • An additional interest form may be sent after the Call for Volunteers ends.

Awards & Assessment Committee

  • Members serve as awards judges who thoroughly review every application, provide objective measure and feedback, and consult with councils about awards applications during AFLV Central and AFLV West.
  • Members must be full-time professionals or seasoned volunteers in the field of fraternity/sorority advising. Graduate students are not eligible for this role.

Publication Opportunities

Editorial Board

  • Assist with dividing up topics based on who is available and when
  • Assist with the development of issue topics
  • Perform initial and, on occasion, secondary edits to individual submissions
  • Assist with identifying authors and soliciting articles
  • Attend monthly editorial board calls

Contributor

  • Provide a list of topics you’d be willing to write about
  • Provide notice when your schedule will not allow you to contribute
  • Follow editorial schedule and meet deadlines
