AFLV Connections Magazine

AFLV Connections is the Associations quarterly magazine highlighting information, stories, best practices, and news that impact our members! AFLV members will receive two issues each quarter as a benefit of their membership and have the option of purchasing additional subscriptions if needed. Subscriptions are also available for non-members to purchase. The main goal of Connections is to provide members with regular opportunities for development, a connection to the Association and their peer members, and to provoke thought within members' communities that will enhance their fraternal experience and their leadership roles.

How often will AFLV Connections be published?

AFLV Connections is a quarterly publication and will be published twice each semester.   The publication schedule is as follows:

  • Winter - February
  • Spring - April
  • Summer - September
  • Fall - November

Who is the target audience for AFLV Connections?

The target audience for AFLV Connections is both students AND fraternity/sorority professionals. Connections will reach out to campus fraternity and sorority student leaders, but it will also provide insight for professionals who are fraternity/sorority advisors.

Can I subscribe to Connections, even if I'm not an AFLV member?

YES!  We are offering this resource to all campuses in North America regardless of home region.  This is our opportunity to "share the joy" about something that we feel has real value to all individuals working with fraternity/sorority communities, not just our members.  AFLV members do receive two subscriptions free with each paid council membership.

What a great way to help educate and develop your student leaders!  The already low subscription price gets lower and lower the more you order.  Consider providing this to every member of your governing councils or to every chapter president on your campus.  You would be hard pressed to find a better, always consistent, and more cost effective resource fo those staff and students who work so hard to keep your fraternity/sorority community thriving.

What content is provided in AFLV Connections?

Two types of articles are welcomed for publication in Connections: content-based articles and articles in brief. Both types serve as catalysts for further exploration and discussion on topics that are relevant to the fraternal movement. Content based articles are meant to provide readers with tangible content and themes that they can easily and directly apply to their leadership and development. Content based articles present a topic, provide background, and most importantly, offer resolution and/or recommendations. Articles in brief are meant to be starting points for further discussion among collegiate fraternity and sorority members and leaders. While the articles are not meant to be lengthy, they should be thought provoking and applicable to the daily practice of at least a large portion of the AFLV membership.

In addition, the publication will offer several regularly featured sections as well as periodic content pieces that include things like book reviews, best practices, people spotlights, council highlights, and helpful hints, checklists,  and other information to assist in the leadership of any fraternity/sorority community.
