The Andrew McDonough B+® Foundation was created to honor a 14-year-old star -- on and off the soccer and baseball fields. He bravely battled leukemia with his "Be Positive" attitude and B+ bloodtype, never leaving the hospital for 167 days, and earned his spot in heaven in July 2007.

The B+ Foundation spreads Andrew's positive attitude and zest for life and has changed the way thousands of famil
ies relate to each other. They have also helped families across the country -- financially and emotionally -- as they care for their child with cancer.

We are one of the largest funders of financial assistance to families of children with cancer nationwide. We also fund critical pediatric cancer research aimed
to find cures for childhood cancers and improve chemotherapy. For more information, visit

Teach For America is growing the movement of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education. Teach For America works to eliminate educational injustice by finding, training, and supporting diverse individuals who are committed to equality and placing them in high-need classrooms across the country.

Millions of students growing up in poverty lack the quality education that will allow them to succeed—just 8 percent graduate from college by age 24, compared with 80 percent of their more affluent peers.  While we value all forms of diversity, we place particular emphasis on recruiting individuals who share the racial or socio-economic backgrounds of the students we teach, 90% of whom are African American or Latino.

Corps members who share their students’ backgrounds serve as powerful role models and have potential for a profound additional impact based on their personal experiences. For more information, visit
